Communication from School

School staff use SchoolStatus to send emails and texts to parents. Parents will receive a weekly Parent News from Mrs. Johnson, the principal, every Sunday evening. Melissa Hedrick, the parent liaison, sends out PTO News every Tuesday and a Parent Liaison Newsletter every Thursday. To stay up to date on school news, it is important to stay subscribed to SchoolStatus.

As of January 31, 2024, parents can unsubscribe or resubscribe to emails sent through SchoolStatus. Please do NOT unsubscribe from any SchoolStatus messages, as you may miss important communications from the school or division, including emergency and inclement weather messages. If you do unsubscribe in error, please follow the steps below to resubscribe. The school cannot do it for you.

Once a recipient has unsubscribed, PWCS staff cannot resubscribe them without that recipient taking action. The parent or guardian must initiate the resubscribe by scanning the QR Code below or by emailing: [email protected]

Check Your Subscription Status

Text STATUS to 939393 to check the status of a subscription to messages from SchoolStatus. You will receive an auto-reply that lets you know whether or not you are already subscribed to receive messages from your child’s school.

Subscribe to School Messages

Text START to 939393 to subscribe to messages from your child’s school. You will receive an auto-reply message that lets you know that you have been subscribed to receive those messages.

Unsubscribe from School Messages

Text STOP to 939393 to unsubscribe from messages from your child’s school. You will receive an auto-reply message that lets you know that you have been unsubscribed from those messages.

Having problems receiving School Status emails? Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check your spam folder in your email.
  2. Open ParentVUE and verify that your email is correct. If you have trouble doing this, you can email the school and we can check.
  3. Make sure you have not accidentally unsubscribed to School Status by asking to resubscribe.
  4. In your email filters, make sure that you have not blocked School Status. Also ALLOW or WHITELIST the following:
@channel.email
@schoolstatus.com
convo* (as a sender)

If you have taken all of these troubleshooting steps, you can ask your child's teacher to send a test email. If you still do not receive emails, please contact the school.
