Procedures
WALKERS
- All walkers will exit through door 4 (near Kindergarten playground). Parents will be directed to remain in the grass area or near the sidewalk to meet their children. Pre scho]ol and Kindergarten parents must pick up students hand-to-hand at door 4. Teachers or teacher assistants will be there to match preschool and kindergarten students with parents as they have been these last two days.
- Staff will be there to supervise students walking out, but parents are reminded that all students grades 1-5 are permitted to walk home if they are designated as a walker. To qualify as a walker students must live in the walker zone which means they live within 1 mile from school without crossing any major roads (i.e. Waverly Farm Drive, Route 15)
- Parents of walkers are asked not to gather at the front of the building to wait for students as they will not exit through these doors anymore. Please remind children to stay with their family and be advised that moving cars from Kiss and Ride will be starting shortly after they leave the building.
- Parents of walkers must complete a Walker Permission Form (PDF) which will remain on file in the school office for this school year.
KISS AND RIDE
- Kiss and Ride students will line up in the gym supervised. They will come out the main doors when their numbers are called. Kindergarten students MUST walk with an adult to a staff member on K&R duty for added safety.
- Laminated number cards will be given to students each day by their teacher to hand to K&R staff to make sure they are matched with the correct car number. Parents are asked to display their number each day for staff to see clearly.
